Chapter 1

"Battle of Nori Nanba"

Our Story begins with a very beautiful young woman in her mid twenties. Nori Nanba was pure of heart and soul and she had nothing of value, and lived within a village with her father. Her father was a doctor of the village, and was known through out the land to be able to heal the sickest of all men, and he was called upon by many villages to come help their sick, so knowing her father was something she never got to enjoy, and she was told that her mother was lost in child birth while having her. But the rumors from the people in the village say that her mother was a Goddess of great beauty, and returned to where she had come, and many believed this, for the young girls' beauty was so great that no man could resist her, just as her mother before her.

Nori Nanba not having many friends was much on her own as she was growing up. Her father taught her as much as he could in the art of Medicine while he was there with her, so she could take care of the people in the village while he was away. On one of her fathers' trips to another village, a group of travelers came upon the village with a hurt young man in their group. He was hurt bad and they were very worried about him, even though the travelers knew of the secret of their hurt companion, this was unlike any wound he has ever gotten and thought he may need help with it.

They sought out the help of the nearest doctor to help them and Nori Nanba was the closest they could find for helping him. As she was looking at the wound on the young man, knowing that he was not human, she asked them,

     "What is his name?"

The travelers told her, "His name is Inuyasha."

She then asks them how he received this wound. The young lady that was with him started to tell the story of how he was engaged in battle with his older brother Lord Sesshomaru, and how he caused this wound on Inuyasha. Nori Nanba was shocked to hear that two brothers would fight like this causing such bodily harm, and almost death to one another. As she listened to the young girls story and tending to Inuyasha's wound. Inuyasha awoke, looking up at Nori Nanba, her knowing he was still in shock from the wound, she asked him,

     "How are you feeling?"

Inuyasha not really knowing where he was or knowing who this women was that was tending to him, he started to pull away from her. She placed her hand on him, stopping him from trying to get away as she told him,

"If you do not lie still you could open the wound worse and bleed to death." Inuyasha, looked into her eyes, started to feel a calming feeling come over him and subsided to her tending to him, he was soon passed out once again.

When she had finished with tending to Inuyasha and his wound, she told the young woman and his friends,

"Now he needs to rest and let the wound heal, and you all are welcome to stay at my home while he heals."

"Thank you that is very kind of you. What is your name by the way?" Kagome asks her.

"Nori Nanba," she replied, the young lady then begins to introduce herself and the others,

"I am Kagome, and this is Sango and her friend Kiara," pointing, to the Two Tail Demon Cat at Sangos' feet,

"And this Miroku the Monk, and Shippo the Fox Demon, and of course you met Inuyasha."

Nori Nanba looks at all of them wondering how a group like this came about, as she could no longer take the suspense, she ask Kagome,

"Why were Inuyasha and his brother trying to kill one another, and how did you, Sango and the Monk come about to travel with two demons like Inuyasha and Shippo?” Nori asks her, not understanding why humans would be with demon's from everything her father has told her about how demons are.
Kagome told Nori Nanba how they all came about to travel together, and the sad stories behind each one of the travelers. Nori Nanba was shocked that each one had the same goal, to destroy Naraku the Demon, which has caused them all so much pain. She was saddened by the stories that Kagome told of the wayward travelers, and more sadden by the story of Inuyasha and his older brother Lord Sesshomaru.

As the day moved in to night fall, Nori Nanba stayed by Inuyasha's side through the night to make sure he would be alright, with his high fever, she was worried about him, even though he was a demon, BUT... human as well. As the sunset on the third day of Inuyasha's healing and he still has not awoke, but his wound healed almost to the fullest. Nori Nanba finds herself making friends for the first time that she can remember, and learning that what her father said about demons is not true for all demons.
As Nori Nanba and her new found friends sit having dinner laughing and talking, they hear a noise, turning to see what or who it maybe, they see Inuyasha burst into the dinning area, he looks rested and full of vigor, as he starts to let everyone know that he is starving, and wants food. Everyone is pleased to see him up and moving around. While greeting Inuyasha and welcoming him back to the living, Inuyasha turns to Nori Nanba making eye contact with her, he walks over to her, putting his hand out to her and helping her to her feet, not breaking eye contact with her. She feels very uncomfortable with Inuyasha looking it her, like he is. She comes to her feet and Inuyasha takes her into his arms hugging her asking,

“Are the angel that saved him from the near death fight I had with my brother?” As everyone stands watching Inuyasha and Nori Nanba, she answers him,

"Yes, I am the one that doctored your wounds, but you healed yourself, being you are what you are."

Inuyasha tells her, “I remember nothing after the fight with my brother, but the one thing I do remember, was I opened my eyes for only a moment and seen an angel by my side tending to him. Telling me to be still and that she would care for me till I was well.”

He asks her, “Was that you?”

She did not know what to say to him, she remembered telling him to be still, but the rest she did not remember, he had her all confused, she had never been in the arms of a man, let alone a demon. With Kagome yelling at Inuyasha,

     “Let Nori Nanba go.”

She yells again, "Can't you see you are freaking her out," and in turn, it breaks the tension.

As they all sit back down to eat, and having Inuyasha by their side, the group was whole once again. Nori Nanba was listening in to them talking, and thinking to herself it must be nice to have friends this great. Inuyasha turns to her looking at her and smiling; she starts to feel uncomfortable once again,

“Please excuse me.” As she rises from the table Miroku and Inuyasha stand to excuse her. Kagome, Sango and Shippo, look at Inuyasha wondering what has gotten in to him, this is just not how Inuyasha acts, and to come to think of it Miroku is acting a little strange as well, he has actually been behaving himself around Nori Nanba. They all wonder what could be going on.

That night Kagome and Sango start to talk about how the guys are acting, and were talking about going into the village to talk to the people, to find out if something may be happening with Nori Nanba and if there has been any demons around the village, thinking that something may have happened to Nori Nanba to make the guys act different around her.

The next day Kagome and Sango go talk to the people of the village. Finding nothing that a demon has been around, only Inuyasha and Shippo, the villagers ask why they need to know this, and why are they trying to start trouble for Miss. Nori Nanba,

“She is the sweetest young women in the village, not to mention the most beautiful, and after she saved our friend you think you would be grateful.” One of the villagers said.

The girls explained, “We are not trying to cause trouble, only trying to figure out why Inuyasha and Miroku are not acting like their selves around her.”

The eldest women of the village stepped into the crowed telling the tail of Nori Nanba's mother, “Nori’s mother was the most beautiful women of all the land, and when she came to our village, every man that came in contact with her fell under the spell of her captivating eyes and beauty, no man could escape the power that she could hold over them, and the power Nori Nanba's mother has could have been passed to her.”

Wondering if this could be true, Kagome and Sango head back to Nori Nanba's home, talking.

"Will the guys return to normal when we leave the village and get away from Nori Nanba or will her power that she has over them, hold them to her and they not want to leave her.” Kagome says.

“Want I want to know is does she know she is doing this to them, or is she as lost about it as everyone else, by the look on her face last night when Inuyasha took her in his arms, she looks unsure of what was happening to her or what was over coming Inuyasha." Sango says.

As the two girls are just about to enter the doorway of Nori Nanba's home, they hear a voice behind them. Knowing exactly who the person is, they turn to see Lord Sesshomaru standing there asking them again,

“Where is Inuyasha? We have unfinished business, this time I will kill the worthless half breed brother of mine.”

Kagome and Sango back into the house looking toward Nori Nanba, “Lord Sesshomaru is out in front of the home, not to get in his way if he comes in, because he will kill you.” Kagome tells her.

Sango tells Sesshomaru, “We have no idea where he could be; we just returned to the house and have not seen him.” Sesshomaru follows them into the home.

Nori Nanba is sitting at the table as she looks up to see the most beautiful man she has ever laid eyes on. As Lord Sesshomaru's eyes meet Nori Nanba, he pauses not taking another step, their eyes locked upon one another for what felt like hours. As Nori Nanba finally breaks the stare between the two of them, and Lord Sesshomaru acting as if he was put under a spell. He seemed dazed for a few moments. Lord Sesshomaru finally turns his attention back to Kagome and Sango, asking again,

     “Where is Inuyasha?”

As they back away from him, Inuyasha runs into the house from the back. Sesshomaru, shocked to see his brother up and moving so soon after the attack from the Tokijin, he looks at Nori Nanba,

“Are you the one that aided my brother with his quick recovery?” His eyes of gold meeting hers once again, not knowing what to say or do and scared to death, and remembering what he had done to his younger brother, a wave of anger came over her.

She steps up to Lord Sesshomaru forgetting everything that she was told about him and his hatred toward the humans, getting close enough to reach out and touch Lord Sesshomaru, and looking him right in the eyes. Nori Nanba tells Lord Sesshomaru,

“You should not be fighting with your younger brother like you do, you are all you two have now that our parents are gone and you should be trying to get along, because friends and lovers will come and go, but family is forever and no matter how hard you try to get rid of Inuyasha, you will always be brothers, and that is a fact you will never be able to escape...”
Lord Sesshomaru stands there letting her talk, as in mid-sentence he reaches for her as Inuyasha stops him,

     “Leave her alone!!”

Sesshomaru turns his attention back to Inuyasha. As Nori Nanba yells at the both of them,

“I will not have this in my home. If you two want to kill each other do it in the streets.” Sesshomaru reaches for Nori Nanba once again. Inuyasha tells him,

“If you touch her I will rip you apart where you stand.”

Sesshomaru smiling at the both of them, and starts to back away, “Inuyasha, I will take this up with you later,” he then turns and looks at Nori Nanba, and tells her. “I will see you again real soon.”

As Sesshomaru leaves, Nori Nanba falls to the floor on her knees, weeping and saying, "What have I done, I have not only endangered myself, but my village as well. I have made enemies with a dangerous killer."

Kagome and Sango try to comfort her as she is in tears, fearful for her life and the villager's lives. Knowing death is just around the corner waiting for the right moment to strike.

Chapter 2

"Battle of Nori Nanba"

As Nori Nanba is, being calmed down by Kagome and Sango. Inuyasha darts out the door after his brother, with Miroku fast behind him. Sango tells Nori Nanba,

“Everything will be fine do not worry.”

“Inuyasha will make sure his brother stays away from the village and does not harm you or the other villagers.” Kagome says.

Looking at Kagome, Nori asks her, “How can you be sure of that, the wound Inuyasha had purely showed that Lord Sesshomaru is very powerful.”

Kagome reassured her by telling her, “Inuyasha has sent Sesshomaru off a number of times with his tail between his legs.” They start to giggle at the thought of what Kagome just said.

Kagome stops laughing as she looks at Nori Nanba she says, "I cannot believe you got in his face and told him to stop fighting with Inuyasha."

"Yeah, he looked confused when you did that," Sango added.

"I do not know what came over me," Nori Nanba says. "With everything you have told me about him, and Inuyasha, and seeing what he had done to him; this wave of anger came over me. The only thing I can think of for doing it is that I never knew my mother, and my father is gone almost all the time, I am an only child, so I really have no family. It saddens me to think that if you have a brother or sister in your life, why would you want to hurt them or even...," Nori Nanba pauses,

"Kill Them! "As a tear runs down her cheek she adds, "What I wouldn't do for a brother or sister, be them younger or older." With Kagome and Sango both now thinking of their younger brothers, and how they missed them; now feeling sad for Nori Nanba because she was alone, they sit in silence for a few moments.

As Kagome is thinking, she asks, “Nori Nanba do you know why men seem to be so attracted to you?”

Sango is giving Kagome a look of... ‘NOT NOW.’

"Not to change the subject or anything," Kagome says. "And I don't mean to seem jealous or rude about this, but it is a fact that Inuyasha and Miroku both have been acting very different around you, and the men in the village, they act as if they're love sick or star struck. Even Sesshomaru, I have NEVER seen him stop dead in his tracks like that before, but when his eyes meet yours it was as if he ran into a wall.” Kagome says.

“Yeah he stopped dead within his footsteps, and when you two finally, broke eye contact. He seemed stunned for a few moments." Sango says.

Nori Nanba was not sure herself why this was happening to her or the men she encounters. She looks at the girls,

"I do not know why, for the last few years the men of the village have been so strange around me. Before, I was treated like any other person here in the village, but sometime ago I started to notice things about how the guys were acting with me. I asked my father about it, he told me it was because I was becoming a young woman. He had told me that when I was eighteen; you would think, five years later at the age of twenty-three I would have already been a young woman and moving on to being a women."
"What of your mother," Sango asks, "A woman in the village told us that your mother was thought to be a Goddess of great beauty..."

"I have heard many things about my mother," Nori Nanba says.

"Doesn't your father talk about her," ask Kagome.

"Not really, he used to talk about her all the time when I was younger. I thought it was because he missed her so much, but as the years went on it was as if he just... stopped."

Sango looks at Kagome and says as she turns to Nori Nanba, "Maybe it's time to sit down with your father and get him to tell you about your mother. You need to get the whole story from him, you are becoming a woman now, and things you do not understand are happening to you. It is better to get the truth from him, rather than the rumors from the people of the village. What if something was to happen, if your mother did have certain powers over men, and passing these powers on to you, if you do not know how to use the power or even control it, it might do harm to someone or even to you!"

"Your right Sango, I do need to know about this. I just wish my mother were here so she could tell me, my father may have known about my mothers' powers, if she did indeed have them, but I truly doubt he knew how she used them or controlled them."

They find themselves sitting in silence once again, Nori Nanba gets up, and walks to the door, they ask her, “Are you all right?”

She replies, "Yes, I would just like a little time alone please." Thinking to herself, how much easier her life could have been, if only her mother had been there when she was growing up.

As her mind drifts in and out of thought, she finds herself thinking of Lord Sesshomaru.

"How perfectly beautiful he was. His skin so pale, and his long flowing hair of white," she stops. "His eyes... his eyes of golden yellow, so deep and yet so filled with hate and anger." Nori Nanba thinks of when she had looked into his eyes. She could almost see within his soul, so much hurt.

"I could feel his power; it was so strong!" She crosses her arms holding herself and trembling, knowing this is a man that has never known love. Lost so deep in thought, Nori Nanba did not realize the sun had set and that the night was upon her. Hearing a snap, like someone stepping on a twig, she comes back to reality; looking around her for someone's presence, she sees no one.

She hears another noise, turning in the direction the noise was coming from. She sees a silhouette, tall and narrow. It is something hiding in the trees. It starts to move toward her, she backs away not letting her eyes leave the object. She still cannot see who or what is coming toward her. As her heart starts to beat faster, and she is still backing away, thinking,

"Is it him, had he come to kill me? Was Inuyasha not able to stop him, and now he is here, back to get me!"

Still backing away her mind-running wild with thoughts and scared to death, she bumps  into something behind her. Spinning around she finds Inuyasha standing there; she falls into his arms sobbing. Inuyasha shocked by this asks, “What is wrong?” He strokes her hair to calm her. She tells him what she saw he looks seeing nothing.

He tells her, “You must have been seeing things, for there is no one or nothing there.” She turns to see if what he says is true.

She looks at Inuyasha telling him, "I know there was something there, I saw it, and I was not seeing things. It was there; you must have scared it away. You must have, because something was there. I know it was there."

Sobbing even more and feeling as if she was losing her mind from the days activities. Inuyasha turns her to face him. Looking into her eyes, he takes her into his arms and says,

“You are safe now, I will never let anything happen to you.”

She feels him stroking her hair, soon his hand is on her back as he is gently creasing her and pulling her tightly into his body. Pushing away from Inuyasha, she tells him

"NO! This is wrong; what you are feeling is not real and I will not allow you to act on false feelings." She runs from Inuyasha into the house, going straight to her room. As she falls to her bed sobbing, thoughts wildly running through her head,

"What is happening, why can't I stop it, why me, and why can't father and mother be here, why!," crying herself to sleep.

She awoke the next morning to the sun shining in on her, warming her cold body. As she stretches, out and welcomes the new day, she rolls over on to her back. As she does this, she sees Lord Sesshomaru standing against the far wall in her room, she quickly gets up from her bed, but not quick enough. He had her in his grasps within seconds. With one hand around her throat and the other hand holding her against him, her back is to his chest. He whispers in her ear,

"What have you done to me?"

Scared and not knowing what he is asking her, she tells him, "I have done nothing to you, PLEASE let me go; I do not wish to die." His grip on her throat was getting much tighter.

"PLEASE! " She begs of him. "I do not know what you want me to say."

He whispers in her ear again. "You have done something to me… When our eyes meet yesterday I can feel it burning within me," he says to her.

His grip is releasing from around her throat and the hold on her body that he had is no longer there as well. Knowing he is still behind her, she turns to look at him afraid of what he may do, but she needs to see him.

Looking at him, but not making eye contact with him, she touches his face with her fingertips. He moves back and she reaches for him again. This time she makes full contact with him, running her fingers back toward his ear feeling his soft silky skin on her fingers. The palm of her hand now rests on his cheek. He places his hand on hers, holding her hand to his cheek. She looks at him again; she sees his eyes are closed.

He looks so calm; it is almost as if he is enjoying me touch.” Nori says to herself.

Sesshomaru looks at her, making their eyes meet for only a second. He soon grabs her wrist, squeezing it, as he whispers,

"NO! " He pushes Nori to the floor.

When she looks up, Lord Sesshomaru is gone. Still on the floor, Nori Nanba wonders what just happened.

Why did he not kill me, and why did I need to touch him so badly. Do I have an obsession over him and if I do, is this good or even safe, why am I feeling this way about him?” She needed answers and she wanted them right then.

Sesshomaru stands just within the forest, he turns looking back into the village. He sees Nori Nanba's home, and then sees her stepping outside. He steps forward, then stops himself.

"What am I doing, why do I want this woman so badly? It is like a raging fire burning within my veins. What powers is she holding over me?!" He was soon finding himself thinking of her, “Her eyes... her very beautiful soft blue eyes. The warmth and tenderness of her soft skin lightly touching my face. Her touch, so gentle and loving, warms my blood.” Remembering how she made him feel, Sesshomaru finds himself moving toward the village again, he stops. Watching as Nori Nanba stands outside, the sun shinning on her hair as it glistens in the light, reflecting many shades of gold and copper. She looks as if she is looking for something or someone.

"Is she looking for me?" He says to himself finding he wants her touch, feeling as if he has no control. Confused and feeling lost for the first time in is life, he thinks,

"Why!" He forces himself to turn and walk away.

Nori Nanba, still outside looking for Lord Sesshomaru, turns hearing Shippo's voice.

“What are you looking for Nori Nanba?”

She looks at Shippo, “Nothing just looking around,” she tells him.

“Oh, all right then, Kagome has sent me out to get you. She has breakfast done, and it is time to eat.” Shippo tells her.

She follows Shippo into the house. She turns just before entering the doorway. She whispers,

"Where are you Sesshomaru, and why did you run away?" She sighs, "Lord Sesshomaru."

Sesshomaru well into the forest stops, feeling as if something is calling him, as her very softly whispered words had fallen upon his ears.
