"Curse or God Sent"
Let The Journey Begin… With Prohibition
“At last we have arrived at a village, I thought the desert was never going to end,” the red head stretched his long legs from the jeep and set his feet firmly on the dusty ground. He then stretched his whole body and let out a small groan.
“Woohoo!” a genki boy shouted as he jumped out of the jeep
“I smell food!” In excitement he started to run towards the village but only to realize that he was being held back from someone holding onto his cape.
“Huh?” The confused boy turned around to see why he was not dashing off.
“Where do you think your going dumb monkey?” Gojyo looked at him and raised his brow. But his attention became divided, a smirk smile appeared on his face and his head tilted to the side, almost as if he was looking past Goku, which he was. Goku tugged at his cape, struggling to get Gojyo to let go of it.
“What are you looking at water-sprout?” The short boy turned in the direction which the crimson head man was gazing at. Gojyo fell into a dream-like state. The wind stirred through his hair and the sun brightened the pretty girl’s features… Well to him the sun brightened her features.
Goku interrupted Gojyo trance “That’s all you are looking at, a girl dressed in a skimpy blue dress and I th-”
Gojyo eyes welled up with fury, his blood started to boil from the remark Goku had said to him. “She is not skimpy!” the blazing red head screeched at him.
“You would not know a nice girl if she slapped you in the face,” Gojyo turned around and poked his nose in the air and put his hand on his hip like he was a posh stuck up woman.
“Would you two stop you’re bickering,” A deep voice approached them
“You sound like a married couple,” Goku and Gojyo froze, their faces whitened and a sweat drop appeared on the side of their features. The stylish monk, dressed in his cream robes and boots walked passed them as if they did not exist.
Moments after the little monkey-like boy snapped out of it.
“WHAT! I’M MARRIED TO A WATER-SPROUT!” Goku bellowed as Sanzo crossed onto the village grounds. The short brown haired boy carried on his constant muttering to himself as he walked into the village.
While the party lingered in the village, the guys came across a food stand. Goku’s eyes widened, his face was full of glee and red marks started to appear on his cheeks. He started floating around the members of the group almost like he was swimming.
“Dear food, I thought I would never see you again.” *WHACK* A white fan appeared from nowhere and smacked him round the head.
“What the hell was that for?” Goku stressfully turned around and cried to Sanzo, he was stroking his head because of the pain but only to realize when he opened his eyes a gun was being pointed at his head. The monk gave his short reply of ‘tch,’ and walked off.
“This monk has too many mood swings, he needs to get a girl,” *WHACK* again with the white fan.
“If I hear that from you again, I will shoot your balls off, you got that,” the monk responded in a quite but angry voice. He spun around allowing his robes to flow behind him.
“Goku are you done, let’s go,” Sanzo’s sturdy voice called out. Goku gathered his food; stuffing something in his mouth before he filled his arms with all kinds of grub.
“Err… Sanzo,” a soft voice called out from beside him. Sanzo looked in the direction of the voice and stared at the face. “Where should we stay for the night?” Hakkai stood there with his arms folded waiting for a response.

He placed his hands firmly in the dirt and dug into it. Gojyo’s breathing became heavy, sweat started dripping from his face. He could not even respond; he felt like he was being torn apart. His blood red eyes filled with disbelief, he could not believe what he had just seen.
“Gojyo?” Hakkai put his hand on Gojyo shoulder and clenched onto it hard attempting to bring him from his shock, but it did not work. “Ar-re,” Hakkai sighed.
“Here let me have a try, stupid pervert,” Sanzo tone of voice became annoyed, he turned around and pointed a gun at his head; again it was a no go. Gojyo did not even twitch. He had been traumatized and no-one could pull him out of it.
He sat there, staring at the light brown dirt that was lying before his eyes. He slowly raised his arm up like an old corpse and pointed at a sign that stood ahead of them. All the guys’ turned in the direction which he was indicating at. A sweat drop appeared on each of their face along with a smirk.
“It’s not a big deal Gojyo,” Goku was trying to hold back his mirth
“We are only going to be here for a night,” Goku could not hold it in any longer, he burst into laughter and fell on the ground. He was rolling around in so much hysteria that his stomach began to cramp up from it.
“How dare you…” The irritated Gojyo got to his feet. “Have you not read what it says?” He questioned Goku in a quiet voice.
“Yes we all have seen it,” The calm Hakkai let out his words and chuckled.
“It only says- ‘If anyone attempts to touch a girl for their own pleasure, their privates will be removed.’ I think that was clear enough,” Hakkai stood there pointing at the notice. Sanzo observed Gojyo fall to the ground yet again and cup his hands over his face.

Just then, another attractive young women with blonde hair comes running down the stairs,
“Where did she go?” She says at a low whisper talking to herself. She looks around as her eyes meet with Hakkai’s, Goku’s and Gojyo’s. She smiles at them as she walks toward the door.

“This is all they had left, be glad we got this or we would be sleeping in desert again.” Hakkai says.
“I’m hungry…” Goku wines, Sanzo shoots a dirty look at him, “Well I am!!” Goku wines louder.
“I wonder who those girl’s were that were in the lobby earlier.” Gojyo says.
“I am not sure, but they do not look like they are from around here.” Hakkai replies. Gojyo is looking out the window as he turns with a big smile on his face,
“So if they are not from around here the rule would not apply to them, Right?” Gojyo says with a devilish grin.
“I’m HUNGRY!” Goku says holding his stomach rolling around on his bed.
“If I see that bitch again she is mine!” Sanzo says as she glares at Goku.
“Now your thinking in the right frame of mind Sanzo.” Gojyo says to him with a slight laugh. Sanzo looks up at Gojyo giving him a dirty look, “That is not what I want her for you stupid water sprout. I own her for her smartass comment in the lobby.”
“Well Sanzo you cannot blame her you did bring it on yourself with your comment. She was not talking to us, but to herself.” Hakkai tells him.
“Then she should have not spoken so loudly for me to hear her.” Sanzo says.
“So loudly! I barely heard what she said.” Hakkai replies.
“Well I heard it like she was standing right next to me.” Sanzo says.
“I’M SO HUNGRY!!” Goku exclaims.
“HOW CAN YOU BE HUNGRY, what happen to all that food you had not long ago?” Sanzo asks Goku.
“I ate it…” Goku tells him. Sanzo and the others look at Goku, Hakkai and Gojyo laugh as Sanzo becomes very irritated.
“You ate all that food already?!” Sanzo exclaims.
“Yeah I was hungry.” Goku tells him adding. “It was not that much.”
“Stupid monkey…” Sanzo replies. The others laugh as Sanzo becomes more irritated with Goku and his wining for food.
“I have to say I am starting to become hungry myself.” Hakkai states,
“Every one of you knowingly gets on my nerves. I should shoot you all and get you out of my hair.” Sanzo says as he stands up from his seat.
“ARE WE GOING TO GET FOOD!!” Goku exclaims as he springs from his bed seeing Sanzo stand up. Sanzo looks at all of them as he reaches for the door handle, “If any of you get out of line and embarrasses me I will kill you on the spot, Got it!!” Sanzo tells them.
“GOT IT!!” Goku says as he stands there in front of him, “Now let’s go get FOOD!!” Goku exclaims.
Sanzo touches the brow of his head and rubs it, “What did I do to deserve this.”
As they leave their room and start to the near by restaurant, the two young woman they had the pleasures or displeasures of meeting earlier in the lobby of the Inn was sitting waiting on their dinner in the same restaurant they were headed to.

“YEAH!! He got to me alright… Him and his smartass comment. As I was walking out of the lobby his friends had to hold him back he said he was ‘Going to kill me’.” Nori told Laney.
“HE SAID WHAT?! Ok stop right there what did you say to him to make him say this.” Laney asks her.
“Nothing,” Nori says as she leans back in her chair.
“Yeah and I am to believe that this Monk said he was going to kill you and you did nothing… I know you better then that Nori you’re a smartass.” Laney tells her.
“I did not say anything to him until he made a smartass comment to me first.” Nori replies.
“AHHH… Now the truth comes out.” Laney says laughing.
“WHAT!! He started it.” Nori exclaims.
Laney shakes her head, “Nori starting a fight with a Monk you should be ashamed of yourself.”
“HEY!! He was not NO ordinary Monk I do not care what you say.” Nori says with a touch of detest.
“Well what did you say?” Laney asks her.
“Well I came running down the stairs after you left the room looking for you and like I always I talk to myself asking ‘Where did she go’…”

“Yes ALOUD! Well he made the comment that ‘He did not know they were not your babysitters.’ So I walked back over to him and told him ‘If I want any information from you…’ and I picked up the beads around his neck and finished saying ‘I will jerk on your prayer beads next time.’ I dropped them back to his chest and walked away from him.” Nori told her.
Laney dropped her head placing her hands to her forehead chuckling slightly, “I cannot believe you Nori.”

Just then, Nori heard the door she looks up as she heard someone say, “FOOD SWEET, SWEET FOOD!!” The 4 guys from the

“Sanzo… Sanzo!! Stop Sanzo!!” Hakkai exclaims as he jumps from his seat to chase after him. “You know you are a real BIT-” Sanzo’s words were cut short as Hakkai jerks him away from the table side. Pushing him back to their table,
“Sorry ladies,” Hakkai says smiling at them.
“Hakkai stop this now!” Sanzo yells at him.
“No you stop this, Sanzo leave that women alone she did not mean anything by what she said. She was only getting back at you for saying what you said to her.” Hakkai told him setting him down in his seat. Through the whole dinner Sanzo could not take his eyes from where they were sitting, Nori not doing much better as they both exchanged dirty looks back a forth to one another.
“Nori… Nori… NORI!!” Laney called to her.
“What,” Nori replied looking at Laney.
“Will you stop this; you have not taken your eyes from him since he came in.” Laney says.
“Like he is doing any better,” Nori looks back at Sanzo his gaze is still locked on her, she contains talking while looking at Sanzo, “He is staring back,” Nori quickly looks back at Laney, “And did you hear what he called me when he came up to the table?”
“You have a problem with that? I call you a bitch all the time.” Laney tells her.
“Well that is different you have known me longer, he does not know me at all.” Nori says looking back at Sanzo.
“Nori we have come a long way for this you better not go messing it up because you do get along with one of them. Just remember what we are here for and keep focused on that.” Noir looks at Laney and nods.
“Come on let’s go, I can plainly see he is driving you crazy, and as we all know your crazy enough.” Laney tells her.
“HEY!!” Nori exclaims.
“I am going to pay the bill get ready to go.” Laney tells her.
“I have to go to the bathroom I will meet you outside.” Nori tells Laney.
“Fine but if you’re not out there in five minutes, I will be kicking your butt… He won’t have to.” Laney says.
“What ever… like you could kick my butt!” Nori tells her laughing, getting up from her seat and walking toward the guys table. Nori checks out each one of them as she walks by. Her eyes only meeting with Sanzo’s as they glare at one another.
After a few minutes of Nori walking by their table Sanzo gets up from his seat,
“Where are you going Sanzo?” Goku asks him.
“Do you have to know everything you stupid monkey?” Sanzo replies.
“EH… I guess not…” Goku replies.
“Good…” Sanzo walks way from the table back to the bathrooms as well. Hakkai turns around seeing the girls are gone and starts to relax a little.
“What’s up Hakkai?” Gojyo asks him.
“Sanzo really has it out for that one girl; he has me worried with it.” Hakkai tells him.
Gojyo laughs under his breath, “Well if you ask me what she did was very ballsy of her. Not to mention funny as hell. Did you see the look on Sanzo’s face,” Gojyo mocks Nori and what she told Sanzo, “If I want information from you, I will jerk on you prayer beads next time.” Gojyo and Hakkai start to laugh.
“It was funny, I could not believe she did it, I have never seen a woman that was that brave to walk up to a man they do not know and say such a thing.” Hakkai replies.
“Well she definitely put him in his place. She is one chick with a bad attitude.” Gojyo says.
“Let me guess Gojyo just your type of women, Right?” Hakkai says laughing.
“Maybe…” Gojyo says crossing his arms over his chest as he sits back in his chair.
Hakkai laughs at him and his cockiness, “She might be more women then you can handle Gojyo. You might want to steer clear of her you might find yourself getting hurt.”
“Hey a little pain is good sometimes.” Gojyo says smiling.
“You’re a pervert…” Goku tells him.
“Listen monkey boy when you grow up and become a man you will understand this better, so just stay out of it for now.” Gojyo tells Goku.
“What is taking Sanzo so long?” Goku says.
“He will be out when he is done calm down monkey boy.” Gojyo replies.
“STOP CALLING ME MONKEY BOY YOU STUPID WATER SPROUT!!” Goku yells at Gojyo coming cross the table at him.
“You two need to stop…” Hakkai says trying to pull them apart from across the table.
Meanwhile Nori is walking from the bathroom when she walks right out into Sanzo standing there waiting for her to come out. Sanzo goes to grab Nori by her arms as she ducks under him and gets behind him. She kicks Sanzo in his butt pushing him into the wall. Nori reaches for one of her throwing daggers hidden in her belt as Sanzo spins around pointing his gun straight it her forehead. Nori smiles at him and starts to laugh.
“What are you laughing at?” Sanzo says spitefully. Nori taps his side with the blade of her dagger.
“Go ahead pull the trigger, but I grantee you will not walk away unscarred by this you may not even walk away. With were I have the point of my blade, one little thrust the blade goes in and when you pull the blade out you bleed to death.” Nori smiles at him with a cold heartless smile as she pushes the blade toward Sanzo cutting his clothing so he slightly feels the point of her blade on his skin. Sanzo growls under his breath as he lowers his gun.
“Good boy…” Nori tells him stepping closer to him as she pats his cheek with her other hand still holding her blade close to his body. “Now if you like your life you will back off and I will not kill you…” Sanzo pushes his gun into her ribcage by her statement. Nori starts to put more pressure on Sanzo’s side with her dagger. Sanzo cringes as the blade of her dagger cuts him slightly puncturing the skin.
“We can stand here all night and see who is going to kill who first, or I can just get it over with now.” Nori starts to slightly pushes her blade into Sanzo’s side has he screams. “YOU BITCH!!” He forces his gun deeper into her ribcage. Nori leans closer to him and whispers into his ear, “Pull the trigger.” She pulls back from him and smiles her eyes cold and uncaring. Sanzo looks at her saying “You’re a crazy Bitch.” He pulls the trigger on the gun at the same time he feels the blade of her dagger plunge deep into his side. He cringes in agony. The others run back toward the bathrooms looking to see what was going on.
While outside Laney was getting ready to walk back in collect Nori, “Where are you going Laney?” Nori asks her.
“Where did you come from?” Laney asks.
“Well last time I checked I came from my father and mother.” Nori tells her nodding her head and smiling.
Laney shakes her head, “Smartass…” Nori laughs grabbing Laney’s hand,
“Come on we need our sleep. We’re getting up bright and early to take care of things, Right?” Nori says pulling Laney back to the
Back in the restaurant Sanzo is on his knees in the floor holding his side as blood drips from his hand.
“Sanzo what happened?” Hakkai says.
“Where is she…?” Sanzo gets to his feet as he grabs Hakkai by his shirt, “Where the hell is she?” Sanzo says again more forceful.

“No… She is the one that did this…” Sanzo says. Goku stands there as rage burns inside of him.
“That bitch, I will tear her apart…” Goku growls,
“You need a doctor Sanzo your bleeding bad.” Hakkai says. “Where’s your doctor at we need to see him, NOW!!” Hakkai yells at the people in the restaurant.

Chapter 2
The Deceit Beginnings:
While at the doctor’s office, the doctor is in back with Sanzo as the others wait out front for someone to come out and tell them what is going on and how Sanzo is doing.
“Man what is taking so damn long he should be done by now?” Gojyo says as he runs is fingers through his long red hair, the tone of his voice lets the others know he is truly worried.
“Sanzo was hurt and bleeding bad it has probably taken sometime to get that to stop bleeding. Just sit down and calm your self worrying is not going to make the doctor come out here any faster.” Hakkai tells him.
“She better not cross my path or I will tare her apart!!” Goku whispers as he sits in his chair with his legs pulled up to his chest and his arms wrapped around them.
“Goku I know you are up set… We all are, but…” Hakkai was cut short as the doctor walked from the back room,
“Well he was lucky, nothing major was injured the blade did nick an artery where it went in but we were able to stop the bleeding and get that wound stitched up. He is one lucky guy if she is would have stabbed him in the original spot she wanted, I would not have been able to save him he would have bled to death.” The doctor told them.
“What do you mean the original spot?” Hakkai asks him, the doctor walks up to Hakkai and starts to use him as a demonstration model,
“Well I seen a wound on his right side just below the ribcage right here and if you know anything about the human body there is a main artery that runs from your heart to your liver about 4 inches into your body the blade she stabbed him with was a good 5 inch blade it would have severed that artery there and he would have bled to death before he could have gotten any medical attention. I asked your friend if he got that from her as well he told me that was were she had the blade to start with.” The doctor told them.
“But she stabbed him on the left.” Gojyo exclaims.
“Yes, she did, and for her to dodge that gun shot and move from the right to the left side of the body that quickly I would have to say he was not dealing with a normal human.” The doctor tells Gojyo.
“So I wonder why she moved her blade.” Hakkai says confused.
“My guess is she really did not want to kill him just scare him.” The doctor tells Hakkai. The doctor starts to walk back to the back room again. The guys stand there wondering what happened between this girl and Sanzo for her to change her mind and not kill Sanzo.
“Oh, as soon as your friend wakes up you can take him back to the

Meanwhile Nori gets to her feet from her bed as Laney sits in hers and reads; Laney looks up at Nori as she reaches for the door handle.
“Where you going Nori?” Laney asks her.
“I cannot sleep I am going for a walk and maybe a drink even.” Nori tells her.
“Alright, but be careful.” Laney says. Nori turns as her brow rises looking at Laney, “You’re kidding right?” Laney smiles at Nori as Nori shakes her head smiling and slightly laughing at her statement she walks from the room.
When the guys finally get Sanzo back to the
“I do not care what that doctor says she had full intentions of killing me.” Sanzo tells them.
“And you did not for her?” Gojyo says. Sanzo gives Gojyo a dirty look.
“Then why did she move the blade and stab you on your left side?” Hakkai asks him.
“She had to move away from the direction the bullet was going so she moved to the left stabbing me as she moved to that side.” Sanzo says.
“I think you’re looking too deep into this dude. She is just some chick passing through you two pissed each other off and push came to shove and she found herself in a spot that it was do or die.” Gojyo says as he gets up form his chair walking toward the door.
“Where are you going Gojyo?” Hakkai asks him.
“To get a drink and see if I can find a good card game going. I cannot sit here any longer.” Gojyo tells him walking out the door.
Gojyo walks down to the bar at the end of the street walking in, he looks around seeing a few guys at a table playing cards. He walks over to the table to see if they have room for one more. When he reaches the table they look up at him.
“So guys got room for one more?” Gojyo says to them. Gojyo sees something move out of the corner of his eye as he looks up at the bar.
“Well if you really want to give away your money dude sure.” One of the guys said. Gojyo looks back at them and smiles, “Sorry guys something just came up.” Gojyo tells them walking from the table over to the bar.
“You know if I was you I would be headed out of town right now.” Gojyo says. Nori turns seeing the monk’s red headed friend standing next to her, Nori turns back to her drink saying,
“Why I did not kill him. He is still very much alive.” Gojyo looks at the bartender and orders a beer, he looks at Nori has she picks up her drink and downs it sliding the glass back to the bartender and motioning for another one.
“So what changed your mind?” Gojyo asks her. Nori looks at Gojyo and laughs,
“He is a monk, a strange monk but still a monk, do I really look like I want to burn in hell for killing a monk.” Nori tells him.
“That is the only reason why you did not kill Sanzo?” Gojyo says laughing. Nori looks at Gojyo and shakes her head, “What do you want or are you just here to bug the hell out of me?”
“Wow an attitude, I Like. I am Gojyo, Sha Gojyo.” Gojyo offers his hand as Nori smiles a devilish smile at him. “Noir Mutsu…” she did not offer her hand to him but went back to her drink. As she looks at Gojyo in the mirror behind the bar she sees he has no ill will toward her for what happen between her and his friend. She smiles saying, “So Gojyo, love the hair do tell me though do you die it or does the drapes match the carpet.”
“Well there is one way for you to find out.” Gojyo tells her.
Nori smiles at him, “Sorry Gojyo I am not that kind of girl.”
“Bullshit the other type of girl would not ask a question like that.” Gojyo says.
“Oh really and what other types of girls do you know?” Nori asks him. Gojyo moves in closer to her and looks her in the eyes.
“Mostly the sweet kind, I do not care for the type of girl that could kick my ass, but I am learning to like them very quickly.” Nori leans back from him and smiles.
“Oh and I guess you have one in mind that you would like to get to know?”
“Maybe…” Gojyo says to her as he pulls back from her.
“Well I hope all goes well for you and you do not get your ass kicked by her before you get to know her.” Nori says smiling at him. Gojyo laughs as he orders another beer, “Can I buy you a drink Miss Nori?” Gojyo asks her.
Nori smiles saying, “I do not see why not.” As the night moves on the two sit and talk drinking and becoming more intoxicated. Finally the bartender looks at them saying, “Hey you two ever going to leave? I would like to close up and go home sometime tonight.”
Gojyo and Nori look at each other and laugh, “Sure we will get out of your hair.” Nori tells him getting up from her seat. Gojyo stands up next to Nori as Nori looks up at him. She blinks her eyes a few times still looking at him, “You are tall Gojyo, and you make me fell really short.”
“That’s cool I like my women short.” Gojyo tells her. They walk from the bar stopping next to a tree in the middle of the village. Nori leans against the tree to rest as Gojyo stumbles forward falling into Nori as she catches him in her arms.
“Gojyo are you alright?” Nori asks him.
“I will be fine as soon as I have you in my bed.” Gojyo tells her he moves into kiss her as Nori quickly moves from under him.
“Gojyo I told you I am not that kind of girl.” Nori says.
“Oh… then why the remark about the drapes and the carpet matching.” Gojyo asks her.
“I was trying to change the subject or we would have been stuck on your friend all night. Which by the way how is he doing?” Nori asks him.
“Who Sanzo? He is fine the doctor said he would live.” Gojyo says walking toward Nori lust filled his eyes. Nori is walking backwards to avoid him, “So the doctor said he was fine?” Nori asks him.
“Yeah, he has to stay in bed for the next 3 days which really pissed him off… like he is going to do it.” Gojyo says laughing.
“So Sanzo is really hard headed?” Nori asks.
“HA! Hard headed is not the word for that Monk, more like overbearing, mood swinging, attitude from hell, I would rather shoot your ass then look at you Monk.” Gojyo says. Nori starts laughing as Gojyo’s words start to run together as he speaks and his steps become smaller as he walks toward her. All of a sudden Gojyo falls forward as Nori catches him. She looks down at Gojyo as he is passed out in her arms she starts to laugh, “Light weight…” Nori whispers she picks Gojyo up propping him against her with his arm around her neck. “Walk Gojyo…” She tells him. Gojyo opens his eyes and starts walking.

“Good it is about time you gave into my good looks and charm.” Gojyo says. Nori laughs as she takes him to his room. Gojyo opens the door as Nori walks him in and sits him on his bed, he falls back and she covers him with a blanket that was on the bed. She bends down kissing Gojyo on the cheek and whispering in his ear,
“It was nice meeting you Mr. Sha Gojyo. Thank you for the drinks I hope we get to remain friends once you find out why we are really here.” She stands back up looking around the room seeing Sanzo and the others lying in their beds fast asleep. She turns walking from the room before any of them woke up seeing her there.
The next morning Laney walks over to Nori that is curled up under her blankets head covered. Laney pokes Nori, “Get up lets go get breakfast.” Laney tells her.
“NOOOOOO, go away the thought of food right now is making my stomach churn.” Nori tells her.
“You mean to tell me that you knew what we had to do today and you went out and got drunk?” Laney asks her. Nori pokes her head out from under the covers and smiles saying,
“What can I say Gojyo’s wit and charm had me captivated all night. Not to mention he was buying.” Nori says covering her head again. Laney stands there with her hands on her hips,
“So you were with one of them last night?” Laney asks her.
“Yeah I was with the cute redhead last night.” Nori’s voice came from under the covers.
“So what happen?” Laney asks.
“We drank, talked and he hit on me like twelve thousand times.” Nori said chuckling.
“So you found out nothing?!” Laney exclaimed irritated.
“Yes I did, I am just not up to talking about it right now. Go without me, I will eat later” Nori says.
“We will talk about this later. I cannot believe you Nori.” Laney says as she storms out of the room slamming the door. Nori hunkers down in the bed to the slam of the door.
While across the hall the guys are fighting with Gojyo to get him out of bed as well.
“Come on Gojyo I am starving.” Goku complains holding his stomach.
“Leave me alone,” the mumbles of Gojyo’s voice comes from under his pillow.
“Just leave him I am tired of hearing you two yell at him to get up.” Sanzo says in an annoyed tone,
“Come on Goku you and I will go get something to eat this morning. Would you like anything Sanzo?” Hakkai asks him.
“No just leave…” Sanzo says more annoyed.
“All right then, let’s go Goku.” Hakkai says as Sanzo’s attitude did not faze him.
Later at the restaurant Laney takes a seat at a table as the waiter walks up to her smiling, “Good Morning Miss where is your friend at this morning?” He says to her handing her a menu.
“Thank you and she is still in bed.” Laney tells him.
“I guess last night was too much for her.” The guy told Laney.
“I know she was not doing too well this morning she was a little hung over.” Laney tells him.
“It got to her that bad she had to go get drunk, huh.” The guy says laughing. Laney looks at the guy confused, “I have this feeling we are talking about two different things here.” Laney says.
The guy looks at Laney, “So I am taking she did not tell you what happen here last night.”
“Last night… You mean when she came back?” Laney said.
“She never came back last night it happened while you all were here. As a matter of fact, it happen just right after you walked out the door from paying the bill.” The guy told Laney.
“What happen?” Laney exclaims.
“Well you know the 4 guys that came in here last night…” The guy started.
Laney shook her head as she dropped it down into her hands saying, “Stop there I do not want to hear anymore, I am already mad at her let’s not make it worse.”
“Well maybe she should be the one to tell you, I do not want to ruin your breakfast for you.” The guy told her.
“OOOOh I do not like the sound of that…” Laney said in a worried tone. Just then Laney sees Hakkai and Goku walk past her table.
“UMM… could you do me a favor?” Laney asks the waiter.
“Sure what would you like?” The waiter said. As Laney and the waiter talk Hakkai and Goku take a seat at a table.
“Hey Hakkai isn’t that the friend of the girl that stabbed Sanzo?” Goku asks him.
Hakkai looks over to where Goku pointed, “Yes I am sure it is Goku.” Hakkai says. The waiter approached their table saying,
“Excuse me sir, but the lady over there would like you two to join her for breakfast this morning at her table.”
Hakkai looks over at Laney and smiles, “Well I guess I cannot refuse such a lovely lady.” Hakkai and Goku stand and walk over to her table.
“Hello there.” Hakkai says when they reach the table.
Laney looks up and smiles, “Hello,”
“I am Cho Hakkai and this is Son Goku.” Hakkai tells her.
“I am Laney Tohoshi; it is nice to finally meet you.” Laney says, as she goes to stand and greet them.
“No… No Please do not stand on our account.” Hakkai says taking a seat at the table.
“So where is your friend at today?” Hakkai asks Laney.
“She is still in bed she thought getting drunk last night would be a good thing to do.” Laney says.
Hakkai laughs, “One of our friends tied a good one on last night as well.”
Laney smiles at him saying. “I wonder if he is this Gojyo guy, Nori was speaking of this morning.” Laney says.
Hakkai laughs, “Well I do not think there could be two Gojyo’s in this small village. So I guess we are safe to say it is the same Gojyo.”
“Gojyo was out with that bitch last night getting drunk!!” Goku exclaims. Laney gets a surprised look on her face looking at Goku.
“GOKU!!” Hakkai exclaims he looks at Laney, “I am sorry for my friend’s out burst.”
“That is fine; as a matter of fact I had alterative motives for asking you to have breakfast with me this morning.” Laney says.
“See she is no better then her friend!” Goku exclaims.
“GOKU Please your manor’s. You cannot judge everyone by one person’s actions.” Hakkai says.
“Well she said she had alterative motives.” Goku says.
“I am sorry Goku I can see you are upset over something that Nori did I just wish I knew what it was.” Laney says to him.
“You mean to tell me you have no idea what happen between Sanzo and Nori last night while you were here?” Hakkai asks her.
“No I am in the dark about the whole thing. The waiter was saying something to me about it when I came in. That’s when I thought I world ask you two to join me so I could find out what Nori had done.” Laney says.
“You do not sound too surprised about your friend get herself into trouble.” Hakkai says.
Laney laughs, “If Nori was not getting herself into some kind of trouble at least every other day I would think she was not feeling well. She means no harm as…” Goku cuts Laney off in mid sentence,
“NO HARM SHE ALMOST KILLED SANZO!!”
Laney hangs her head as Hakkai gives Goku a look of disapproval.
“I am truly sorry for Nori’s actions. She really is a sweet girl unless you threaten her life then she is uncountable.” Laney says as she looks up at them. Hakkai looks at Goku with a smile and says,
“It sounds like someone I know.” Goku smiles and puts his hand to the back of his head chuckling slightly.
“Well from the information I got from Sanzo this morning, he did go after her first which is probably why she may have felt threatened. I mean he did start it with her at the

Just then, the waiter walks to their table setting their food in front of them and walks away.
“Well now she has to worry about me and I am not going to let her off lightly because she is a girl.” Goku says slightly angered.
Laney looks at Goku, “Goku… Nori is… well she is.”
“She is Youkai.” Hakkai says finishing her thought.
“No, Nori is not Youkai, she is not like us.” Laney says. Hakkai gets a surprised look on his face as he looks at Laney.
“Does that surprise you that I knew this?” Laney says.
“Well not many people know or can tell.” Hakkai tells her.
“Do not worry your secret is safe with me.” Laney says with a smile. Laney stirs her tea and takes a sip.
“So Laney if Nori is not a Youkai what is she?” Goku asks her.
“Well Goku have you ever heard of a Kindred Spirit?” Laney asks him. Goku shakes his head when Hakkai chimes in saying, “She is one of the Last Children?”
“So you know what it is?” Laney says to Hakkai.
“Yes… Nori is cursed with a power that could kill her if she is not careful.” Hakkai says.
“Yes Nori and I know this. That is why we moved from our village. Between Nori being one of the Last Children and me being Youkai we were chased out. They thought that Nori’s curse and I being Youkai that it was bringing misfortune to the village.” Laney told them.
“People fear what they do not understand.” Hakkai tells Laney.
“Yes it is just sad that we lost our home because of this.” Laney told him.
